I am a proud Army mother. My oldest son is a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army. Can you just see my pride on full display…. So I take this opportunity to acknowledge Memorial Day with my readers.
As my son prepares for his first deployment in another week my heart goes out to the families of our military men and women who have paid the ultimate price for this country.
I am a breast cancer survivor. Unlike my battle with this disease, I don’t know if I could ever survive losing a child. I’m not sure if the honor of paying the ultimate sacrifice for our country could ever make losing a son or daughter easier. In fact, I would gladly trade my battle for his if a sacrifice would ever need to be made. My life for his… that’s a mother’s love.
Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ~ john 15:13
“Yes the bells of liberty ring in America today because of these men we honor today.” ~ Billy Graham
May we always remember the service of our brave soldiers and may we always honor their families. Most importantly may we always remember Jesus paid the highest price because of His great love for us first.
“Even though the sacrifices of our war dead have been great, yet the greatest sacrifice of all time was made by a man on a cross who died that men might live.” ~ Billy Graham
